Daily Number Challenge
One rotating challenge each day — the same for everyone. These are skill-based rounds, not a single lucky draw. Your streak is saved locally on this device.
How to Play
Every day at 00:00 UTC, RNGdle serves one challenge — the same one for every player. It takes about a minute, you get a single scored attempt, and finishing it at any score extends your streak. Afterward, Practice mode deals unlimited fresh rounds of the same challenge type without affecting that result.
◆ Number Draft
Five numbers are dealt face-up and exactly one of them is the rarest. You get a single pick and no undo. Once you commit, every score is revealed so you can see how close your instinct was.
⌖ Pattern Hunt
Numbers arrive one at a time from a deck that is identical for every player. Roll to see the next one, or bank the number on screen to lock it in. Anything you roll past is gone for good, and the run ends after 60 seconds. You are scored on how your banked number ranks against the whole deck, so it is a question of when to stop, not how fast you can click.
⇄ Rare or Common
Ten head-to-head rounds. Two numbers, pick the rarer one. Every pair is generated with a clear gap between the two scores, so no round comes down to a coin flip. Eight out of ten is a good day.
Reading rarity
Big numbers are not rare — structured ones are. A number wins on repeated digits, mirror symmetry, long digit runs, an unusual digit sum, or a factorisation that few numbers share. When two candidates look equally plain, the one with fewer distinct digits is usually the rarer bet.
Streaks and sharing
Finish the challenge and your streak goes up by one; miss a full day and it resets to zero, though your best-ever streak is kept. Copy Result gives you a spoiler-free emoji grid with a distinct palette for each game — the shape of your run with none of the actual numbers — so it is safe to paste anywhere.
Frequently Asked Questions
+Does everyone get the same daily challenge?
Yes. The challenge type, and every number inside it, is generated from the date itself — so the puzzle is identical for every player in the world. Nothing is rolled on a server and nothing is personalised.
+What time does the daily challenge reset?
00:00 UTC. The results screen shows a live countdown to the next one, and the page swaps itself over automatically when the clock rolls past midnight UTC.
+Which challenge is on today?
The three types rotate in a fixed order — Number Draft, then Pattern Hunt, then Rare or Common — so tomorrow's challenge is always predictable from today's.
+Is the daily challenge luck or skill?
Skill. The numbers are fixed for the day, so what varies between players is whether you can read which number carries the rarer structure. Rarity here comes from measurable properties — repeated digits, palindromes, digit runs, factorisation — not from a hidden roll.
+How is one number decided to be rarer than another?
Each number is scored by how much information its traits carry, measured against exact counts across the whole supported range. The fewer numbers that share a trait, the more that trait is worth, and correlated traits within one family are damped so they cannot stack. The full scoring model is documented on the methodology page.
+Can I replay today's challenge if I misclick?
The scored daily attempt cannot be restarted: progress is saved after every answer, so refreshing resumes where you left off. Once you finish, Practice mode lets you replay that challenge type with fresh numbers as often as you like without changing the daily result or your streak.
+I missed a day — can I get my streak back?
Not currently. A streak survives a gap only if you play again the very next day. Your best-ever streak is stored separately, so it is never lost even when the current streak resets.
+Why did my streak disappear on its own?
Streaks live in your browser's local storage. Clearing site data, playing in private browsing, or switching to another device or browser will start you back at zero. There is no account, so there is nothing to sync from.
+Can I play past challenges?
Previous days are not playable yet. After today's scored attempt, Practice mode gives you unlimited fresh games of the current challenge type with the same scoring engine.
+Does it cost anything or need an account?
No. The daily challenge is free, there is no sign-up, and everything is generated and scored inside your browser — no result is sent to a server.
